Lockport's Historic District is part of the 120-mile long Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor. Lockport residents take advantage of the Rialto Square Theater in nearby Joliet. The Rialto is now considered one of the most architecturally significant theaters in the nation, and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
